Afternoon Tea (Alice’s Teacup, Upper West Side)
We ordered the Mad Hatter for Two: pumpkin, chocolate caramel with sea salt, and herb/goat cheese scones; salmon sandwiches; mocha cake; and assorted cookies. Everything comes on a 3-tiered serving tower. I’d show you a picture, but yesterday was an off-day for photos. None came out well.
Buttermilk Scone (Le Pain Quotidien)
I love scones. Love, love, love them. This one was crumbly on the outside and dense on the inside, just the way a perfect scone should be. Not shown are the jam and butter they offered. When restaurants include minor details like that, I leave extremely happy and look forward to returning before I’m even out the door.
